IAF Hatzerim Museum

Museum of Israeli Air Force is located in the area of Hatzerim Air Base, close to Be'er Sheva kibbutz on the Negev desert. Entrance fee is about 10 USD. The museum itself is like a history scroll of the IAF power. Exotic and fascinating. The exhibition starts with 1948 independence war planes like Avia S-199 and Spitfire or Mustang and ends with Apache or F-15I that look like have been flown a day before. Sadly the older planes are in a poor state, the museum itself looks more like a junkyard and I write it with deep sadness as they posess true jewels in aviation history and this country is wealthy enough to maintain such museum in perfect state. That day I came to museum was one of the hottest. It was 42° Celsius in the shade, but there are no shaded area in the musem. That explains my quick walkaround between exhibits. If any of you plan to visit Israel and travel from Tel-Aviv to Dead Sea area - the Hatzerim Museum is a must for any aviation enthusiast.
